Description
Not one craft. Two. On one small bag.
This yellow potli bag is made using hand batik on pure cotton — the wax is applied by hand, the cloth is dyed, the wax removed to reveal the pattern underneath. Then, over that batik surface, kantha stitch embroidery is worked by hand — the running stitch moving across the cloth in the traditional rhythm of Eastern Indian needlework.
Two handcraft techniques, layered on one piece. That combination is what makes this potli genuinely different from a printed or machine-made bag — rich, textured, and with the kind of depth that only a hand-made object has.
The finishing touch your ethnic wear has been missing
A saree deserves more than a plain clutch. A handloom kurta deserves more than a synthetic bag. This yellow potli sits naturally with cotton sarees, silk sarees, chanderi, and any ethnic ensemble where you want the bag to feel as considered as the outfit itself. The yellow works across a range of colours — with golds, ivories, and deeper jewel tones.
Carry it your way
Held in hand at a festive gathering. Looped over the wrist at a wedding. Small enough to carry only what you need — phone, cards, a lipstick — without the weight of a full bag.
